Mr. Terry M. Carby, age 70, of Guston, KY, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown. Terry was born on July 26, 1954. Terry gave his life to the Lord over 30 years ago and in his words, “It’s been nothing but good ever since.”
Terry was preceded in death by his dad and mom, Clell “Otis” and Josephine Dowell Madden; his grandparents, Hattie and Burn Dowell; his mother and father-in-law, Mary Frances and Gilbert Benham; and one of his special pups, Odie. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Mona Carby; three children, Terra Pike and her husband, Brian, Terry M. Carby, Jr. and Courtney Sinnett, and Adrian Wright; five grandchildren, Jenna and Kaylee Pike, and Daxton, Willow, and Piper Carby; his brother, Ronnie (Lillie) Madden; his sister, Debbie Auberry; his other special pup, Macy; and numerous other extended family, church family, and friends.
Terry was a lover of people and rarely met a stranger. He was quick to give a hug, offer a compliment, or a quick-witted response (if you know, you know). He was a hot rod and food enthusiast and while he enjoyed his time at car shows and potlucks, there was nothing he enjoyed more than being with his grandkids. He was a welder by trade and a lover of God and family at heart.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 31, 2025, at New Brandenburg Baptist Church, with Revs. Tim Harris, Tom Bridge, Ron Melton, and Bob Davis officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, and from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Friday. For those of you with a “hot rod” of any type, the family strongly encourages you to show up in your “hot rod” to honor Terry. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the New Brandenburg Southern Baptist Church Youth and Children’s programs.
