Lena Mae Ferree

Lena Mae Ferree, 92, of Laconia, Indiana, died Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana.  She was born August 10, 1933, in Laconia, to the late Simon and Myrtle Saulman Kingsley.  Lena Mae was a farmer’s wife and a homemaker, was the former owner, with her husband, of the old Laconia Restaurant and Pool Hall, was formerly employed with the old BellSouth Telephone Company, was a member of Royal Neighbors of America, was a 4-H leader for 12 years, and loved cooking and baking.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Joseph and Rex Kingsley; and her sisters, Linda Birdwell and Jimmie Gertrude King.

 

Survivors include her husband of nearly 75 years, James R. Ferree; her daughter, Connie Hennings (Wayne); her sons, Kenny Ferree (Jamie), Donnie Ferree (Norma) and Ronnie Ferree (Lacy); her sisters, Katherine Knear, Beverley Eisenmenger and Debbie Dones; 7 grandchildren; and 17 Great Grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Mike Ferree will officiate.  Burial will be in Rehoboth Cemetery near Laconia.

 

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

 

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Rehoboth Cemetery Foundation.
