Robert Joseph “Bobby Joe” Basham, age 70, of Vine Grove, KY, passed away on June 29, 2026.
He was born on March 28, 1956, in Irvington, KY, son of the late Clara Louise Adkisson Basham and Charles Webb Basham. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Anita Baker and Doris Stivers; and his brothers, David Basham and Donnie Basham.
Robert devoted much of his life to farming and took great pride in caring for his cattle. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to fellow farmers, neighbors, and anyone in need. Known as a jack of all trades, Robert could fix, build, or create just about anything. He found peace in the outdoors, especially while gardening, fishing, and working with his hands. He was a talented craftsman with a gift for hand-carving beautiful pieces. More than anything, Robert was a great husband, dad, uncle, and man. He took pride in teaching the younger generations the things he loved most—how to farm, fish, drive, and, most importantly, how to be a decent man and a good human being. The lessons he taught through his words and actions will continue to live on through those who loved him. Robert treasured his family deeply. His hardworking spirit, generous heart, and love will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
He is survived by his wife, Marla Louise Basham; children, Kaimi (Jeremiah) Roberts, Brian (Jami) Basham, and Garrett (Andrea) Carman; sisters, Becky (Keith) Herron and Gail Wilson of Irvington; Brother, Roger (Joyce) Basham; grandchildren, Tyler Mckenzie, Kenzie Roberts, Devon Basham, Raylan Basham, Wyatt Basham, Logan Carman, and Gavin Carman, along with many nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
