Fannie Mae Luney, age 101, of Irvington, KY, passed away on June 23, 2026, at Signature Health in Radcliff, KY.
She was born on May 14, 1925, in Mississippi, daughter of the late, Sidney and Dora Lanehart. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Luney; son, Marvin Shivers; and all of her siblings.
Fannie was a staple in her community and was very active throughout her lifetime. She was the mother of the First Baptist Church in Irvington, KY, a former treasurer and secretary of the NAACP, and always served others wholeheartedly. While she went by many names, the most special to her was Christian. She loved the Lord and that was evident in the way she took care of other people. Mother Luney was a graceful presence and was a constant help for those who needed a steady hand. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend, and will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church (107 Union St., Irvington, KY 40146) on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 10-12:00 P.M EDT.Â
Funeral Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Irvington, KY, on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 12:00 P.M. EDT with Rev. Robert D. Young, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Brooks Cemetery, next to her husband.
