Richard “Punkin” Elby Milburn, age 81 of Irvington, KY passed away at Hardinsburg Nursing and Rehab on Thursday, September 05, 2024.
He was born on October 4, 1942, in Custer, KY to the late Homer Jacob Milburn and Helen Olivia Board Milburn. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his sisters, Charlotte Norris, Brenda Kessinger, and Carolyn Thomas, and brother, Howard Milburn.
Punkin was a U.S. Army Vietnam Vet. He retired from Ft. Knox Roads and Grounds Division as well as Breckinridge County Road Department. Punkin was a farmer his whole life. He was a lifelong member of the VFW and a member of the Leitchfield American Legion. Punkin also enjoyed music and loved being a licensed DJ for many places including the VFW and Moose lodge in Hardinsburg. He loved playing pool and driving around in his golf cart talking with folks around town.
He is survived by his wife of 57 and a half years, Bettie S. Johnson Milburn; son, Christopher Richard Homer (Patricia Lynne) Milburn of Bewleyville, KY; brothers, Randall Milburn and Frank (Vickie) Milburn; grandchildren, Christopher Brandon (Kayla) Milburn, Caitlyn Ann (Hunter) Burden, Christina R (Dakota Bishop) Milburn, and Candace Marie (Zach) Mudd; eight great-grandchildren plus one on the way.
A visitation will be held at Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. -8:00 P.M. EDT.
Memorial services will be held at Alexander Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. EDT with Brother Tim Lucas officiating.
