Richard Eugene Bruington

Richard “Rick” Bruington, age 65, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025, after a short battle with cancer.

He was born July 17, 1959. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Don and Myrna Bruington and his son Jonathan Bruington.He is survived by his wife, Darlene, and son David (Sarah Westrop); grandchildren, Niccola, Harper, William, and Blair, daughter of Jonathan; and great-granddaughter, Sadie Kate. He has two sisters, Tammy Walters and LaDonna Paulson, and nieces and nephews.

Rick was a member of Garfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church; he enjoyed NASCAR, RVing and spending time with his family, camping, friends, and his dog, “Chloe.”  He also worked in the wholesale oil and gas business for many years and was a park attendant at Cave Creek Campground at Rough River, KY for several years. 

Services will be under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington, KY.  Visitation will be on Monday, March 10, 2025, from 2-8:00 P.M. EDT and Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 9:00-2:00 P.M. EDT with funeral services at 2:00 EDT at the funeral home with Dr. Kenneth Green officiating.  Burial will follow at Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
