Betty Ann Dudgeon Hardesty, age 75, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, KY.

She was born on January 18, 1951, in Hardinsburg, KY, daughter of the late Fred Dudgeon and Ruth Stevenson Dudgeon. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Larry Dudgeon, James Dudgeon, Roy Dudgeon, Gary Stevenson, Franklin Dudgeon, and Ronnie Dudgeon; and sister, Patricia Ann Dudgeon.
Betty worked hard and truly had a servant’s heart. She was a seamstress for many years and served as a cook in a nursing home for some time. She enjoyed working with her hands and was very talented; she created beautiful things her entire life. She also loved playing bingo, loved her cats, and enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing. Above all else, Betty loved her family and was generous beyond measure. She spoiled her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and the love that she showed them will be passed through generations to come. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her children, Sarah (Russ Dowell) Hardesty of Garfield, KY, and Ray (Tessa) Hardesty of Louisville, KY; significant other, Luke Rogers; sister, Mary Lou Rose of McDaniels, KY; brother, Jerry (Cindy) Dudgeon of Illinois; grandchildren, BJ (Courtney) Rogers, Amanda (Chris) Rogers, Elizabeth (PJ) Logsdon, Allie Hardesty, Ella Hardesty, and Leland Hardesty; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Following Betty’s wishes, cremation has been chosen by the family and Alexander Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Pets In Need Society (P.O. Box 522, Brandenburg, KY 40108)
