Rena Bell (Roysden) Olson

Mrs. Rena Bell Olson, age 78, of Harriman, TN, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Brandenburg Nursing and Rehabilitation in Brandenburg, KY. Rena was born on January 22, 1946, the daughter of Russell and Mary Ann (Hicks) Roysden. Rena worked at RedCap as a seamstress for 18 years. She then started her career in the food industry, where she eventually retired at the age of 70 as a food manager for Wendy’s. Rena had many hobbies that included cooking, sewing and playing poker or bingo. She most enjoyed the outdoors doing things such as camping, fishing and traveling.

Rena was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, William Carroll; her second husband, Sgt Donald Olson; three children, Melissa, Jerry Ray and Billy Carroll; and seven siblings, Ruth Matheson, Edna Hayes, Faye Killensworth, James Roysden, Bruce Roysden, Gary “Joe” Roysden and John Paul Roysden. She is survived by her loving daughter, Joyce Bruce and her husband, David; three grandchildren, Chris Bruce and his wife, Samantha, Aaron Bruce and his wife, Sarah, and Brandon Bruce; six great grandchildren, Kaylee, Caiden, Roslyn, Claire, Bryson and Brixton on the way; five sisters, Margaret Westmoreland, Linda Sue Phillips, Billie Cornell, Betty Griggs and Anna Curtain; her brother, Jerry Roysden; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

In honoring Rena’s wishes the family has chosen cremation with a celebration of life service to be held at a later date in Tennessee. Hager Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
