Loretta Gripp

Loretta Violet Worman Gripp, age 82, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital.

She was born on April 17, 1941 in Louisville, KY, daughter of the late Earl Worman and Ruth Helen Beard. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Joseph Gripp; 7 brothers; and 3 sisters.

Loretta was a devoted member of St John Catholic Church and was very strong in her faith. She was the owner of Stardust Cleaning Services, and worked very hard to provide for her family. Loretta was the epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman, and she spread her light everywhere she went. She was a dedicated mom, grandmother, sister, and friend, and will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her. 

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Lorraine (Larry) Elder, of Irvington; grandson, Jonathan (Meredith) Elder; sister, Virginia “Ginny” Chesser, of Shelbyville; and her pugs, who she loved dearly.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 10:30 A.M. at Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 12:30 P.M. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central with her husband.
