Janet Gray (Pitcock) Thomas

Mrs. Janet Gray Thomas, age 80, of Bowling Green, KY, formerly of Louisville, as well as the Doe Haven community of Meade County, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the Medical Center of Bowling Green.  Mrs. Thomas was born July 1, 1944, the daughter of Roy and Helen Pitcock, who both preceded her in death.  Janet had a huge heart for all things, but especially for animals.  She was always an advocate and active participant for animal rescues and truly loved her dogs.  Janet was a longtime employee of the University of Louisville where she retired as an assistant buyer.

Janet is survived by her husband, Joseph Thomas; three sons, David (Kathy) Harvey, Chris (Darlene) Harvey, and Stephen (Elisabeth) Harvey; five grandchildren, Beth (Jeromy) Quigley, Jennifer (Michael) Goodpaster, Hunter Harvey, Houston Harvey, and Stevie Harvey; three great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Astrid, and Austin; her two sisters, Betty Harper and Frankie Jones; her two brothers-in-law, Ronald and James A. Thomas; her former brother-in-law, David Bailes; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 29, 2024, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Rev. David Campbell officiating.  Burial will follow in Buck Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, and from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Monday.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital, 13160 Magisterial Drive, Louisville, KY  40223.
