Fannie Mae Cundiff, age 77, of Irvington, KY, passed away on July 3, 2024, at home surrounded by her family.
She was born on February 22, 1947, daughter of the late Bessie Lee Salesman Sexton and Frank T. Sexton. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Oscar Cundiff; brothers, Earl Gene Sexton, Charles Edward Sexton, and Donald Lee Sexton.
Fannie Mae was a homemaker, farmer, devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a wonderful friend. She loved her family more than anything in this world. She was always excited to take the scenic route wherever she went, or ready to go on mini adventures with her kids and grandkids, no matter the time of day or night. Fannie was fun-loving and took nothing for granted, she made the smallest of things memorable. She was a wonderful cook and would try to feed you as soon as you walked through her door. A kindhearted soul that never met a stranger, she would do whatever she could do to make sure everyone was happy and never judged anyone. She enjoyed the outdoors and fresh air, whether it was mowing the yard, working on her flowers, or sitting on her porch swing watching the cars go by with her 2 puppies (whom she adored!). She was an avid clock collector, and her favorites were the ones that chimed or made noise. Fannie enjoyed taking pictures, which she referred to as her “memories”, and she proudly displayed them on the brightly painted walls that resonated throughout her home for everyone to look at and enjoy.
She is survived by her 7 children, James Richard Cundiff, Janice Mae (Steve) Schumaker, David Wayne (Brittany) Cundiff, Jerry Wayne Cundiff, Roger Edward (Shannon) Cundiff, Susie (Kenneth) Pollard, and Stevie Cundiff; brother, Joe Thomas (Juanita) Sexton; special friend, David Hockenberry; grandchildren, Jamie (Christi) Cundiff, Michael Cundiff, Luke Shumaker, Lindsey (Brad) Walker, Terry (Martrina) Weyrauch, Keirsten (Jared) Brown, Jayden Cundiff, Brianna Cundiff, Christian Cundiff, Jacob Cundiff, Kaleah Cannon, Kylie Cundiff, Karlee Cannon, Brandon Clark, Katie Carter, Bradley (Abigail) Miller, Holly Miller, and Bethany Pollard.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington, KY from 9:00-1:00 P.M. EDT.
