Carol Yvonne Dillard Robinson, age 82, of Ekron, KY, went to Heaven on Monday, June 10, 2024, at All About Home Assisted Living, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on July 6, 1941, in Louisville, KY, daughter of the late Lawrence Kaufman Dillard and Ella Cathryn Armstrong Dillard. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Shird Robinson; sister, Barbara Joyce Wildt; brother, Kenneth Dean Dillard; and one son, Gregory Young Robinson.

Carol was a 1959 graduate of DuPont Manual High School and worked as a secretary at GE and the University of Louisville’s Kent School of Social Work. She also worked as a Certified Instructional Assistant before she retired from the Jefferson County Board of Education. She loved singing, crafting, quilts, and flowers, and she was an incredible cook who could entice everyone with her dishes. While Carol was very active in her community, her most profound involvement was in her church and her work for the Lord. She was an Auxiliary of Gideon International and a devout member of the Buck Grove Baptist Church, and she poured her heart into the work she did there. She taught Sunday School and blessed the congregation with her beautiful singing voice for many years. A woman of amazing faith and the heart of the Robinson family, Carol shaped their spirituality by her tireless Christian example, showing everyone around her what it meant to be truly loved and cared for. She loved her family beyond words and taught them so many valuable lessons that will be carried for generations to come. She was a devoted wife, mom, Memaw, teacher, and friend to all, and will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her.

She is survived by her children, Karen Lea (Kevin) Blake of Brandenburg, KY, Steven Garrett (Diane) Robinson of Shepherdsville, KY, Tricia Marie (Brian) Wieger of Ekron, KY, and Todd Alan (Dana Masterson) Robinson of Brandenburg, KY; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg, KY, and will continue on Tuesday until the time of the service.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 11:00 AM with Bro. Steve Turpin officiating. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central.
