Bruce Wayne Ashmore, Sr.

Bruce Wayne Ashmore, Sr. age 69 of Battletown, KY passed away in his travels through Texas on March 2, 2025.  

He was born on March 9, 1955 in Louisville, KY, son of the late Ailene Mae Age Ashmore and John Randolph Ashmore.  Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Fields and brother, Paul Thomas Ashmore.

Bruce had spent over 50 years of his life driving and had done over 3,00,000 miles in the last 30 years working for J.B. Hunt.  He was a great Papaw and his grandchildren were the greatest joys in his life.  He spent his free time doing what he loved, camping, fishing and mowing grass. He especially loved camping and fishing with his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Vicky Brewer Ashmore; children, Bruce Wayne (Melody) Ashmore, Jr., Rebecca Mae Ashmore, Joe David (Sarah) Ashmore, and John Thomas (Alicia) Ashmore; grandchildren, Haley Moore, Grace Ashmore, Michael Moore, Abigail Ashmore, Bruce Wayne Ashmore, III, John Wayne Ashmore, and Della Lynn Ashmore; sisters, Fran (Bill) Minks and Dottie (David) Brewer; brothers, Ronald (Thea) Ashmore and Tony (Lisa) Ashmore; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 4-8:00 P.M. and after 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home at 10:30 A. M. with Bro. Tom Bridge officiating, burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Louisville, KY.
