Wendy Leigh Austin, 51, of Brandenburg, KY passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Born on February 2, 1975, Wendy was the beloved daughter of Eric Austin and the late Brenda (Perry) Roberts. She lived a life defined by her love for her family, her compassion for others, her infectious sense of humor, and her ability to make those around her feel comfortable and loved.

Wendy was preceded in death by her mother, Brenda (Perry) Roberts; her nephew, Paul “Vinny” Rivera; her maternal grandparents, Donald and Susan Perry; her paternal grandmother, Faye Austin; her aunt, Elizabeth (Perry) Hauser; and her uncles, Brian Perry, Mike Austin and Mark Austin.

Left to cherish Wendy's memory are her father, Eric Austin; her husband, Michael Hoban; her stepfather, John Roberts; her children, Alyssa Amos and her fiancé, Ricky Harper, Sydney Taylor and her husband, Alec Taylor, and Terry Amos; and her beloved grandchildren, Ricky Harper, Mia Harper, Aaliyah Harper, and Tilly Taylor, along with a precious baby girl Harper who is soon to join the family.

She is also survived by her sisters, Jennifer Austin and Erica Austin; four nephews and three nieces; and many other family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

Wendy served a term in the United States Army beginning in 1997. For the majority of her adult life, she worked as a nurse, dedicating herself to caring for others. Much of her career was spent serving residents in nursing homes, and she had a special passion for caring for people during the later stages of their lives. Her compassion and willingness to care for others reflected the huge heart she carried throughout her own life.

More than anything, Wendy loved her children and grandchildren. Spending time with them was her greatest joy. She would do anything she could to provide the best life possible for those she loved.

Wendy also loved bringing people together. Whether she was hosting a family dinner, gathering with loved ones, or simply enjoying time together, being surrounded by family meant the world to her. She loved movies, especially scary movies, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends watching a good movie together.

Those who knew Wendy will remember her huge heart, her hilarious sense of humor, and how easy she was to talk to. She had a way of making people feel comfortable and was someone who would do whatever she could for the people she loved. Her love for her family was at the center of who she was, and the impact of that love will continue to be felt by those she leaves behind.

Wendy had faith in Jesus Christ, and her family finds comfort in knowing and believing that she is now in Heaven.
