homas Eugene Stewart, age 78, of Irvington, KY passed away on January 2, 2026, at home surrounded by his loving family. 

He was born on August 22, 1947, son of the late Alton Stewart and Josephine Stewart (Rogers). Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Gail Stewart; brother, Mitchell Mills; as well as three grandsons and one granddaughter. 

Thomas attended Clair Memorial United Methodist Church where he served as a greeter. He worked for Tyson Foods in Corydon, IN, The NCO Club at Ft. Knox, KY, and helped various farmers in the area. Thomas was a hard worker, and a cheerful person who had a kind word for everyone. You could find him watching sports, spending time with his family, or playfully teasing his grandchildren as they held a special place in his heart. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Bessie Stewart; Children, Larry (Denise) Ditto, Kimberly Stewart (Harold Perks), Alton (Michelle) Stewart, Kim Young, Thomas Stewart, Sophia Brown and Stacy Brown; Sisters, Sherry Mills, Freda Mills, and Pauline Stewart; Brothers, Jackie Mills (Georgia Ann), Kenny Mills and Dewey Stewart; along with twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 11:00A.M.-1:00P.M. EST. at Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington, KY. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. EST on January 7, 2026 at the Alexander funeral home, with Rev. Ronald Mucker officiating.  Burial will follow in the Wales Cemetery.
