Shirley Temple (Wheatley) Priest

Ms. Shirley Temple (Wheatley) Priest, age 86, passed away peacefully at home on April 3, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Shirley was born May 29, 1938, to the late Nannie Jeffries and Henry Wheatley.

She is preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters.

Shirley is survived by her children: Chuck Poole, Bruce (Annalee) Priest, Connie Alvarez, Stacey Priest and Tracy Priest; her grandchildren Aaron (Chelsey) Jones, Sarah (Nick) Weiss, Carrie (Greg) Gibson, Branden (Kelsey)Priest, Dalton (Maegan) Baxter and Noah Alvarez; her great-grandchildren include Lawson, Benton, Charlotte, Lauren, Remi, Ellyana and Kallie. She is also survived by her partner, Ralph Wright.

Shirley enjoyed gardening and cooking for others. She was employed for many years at Medco Center of Brandenburg as a nurse’s aide. She was a caregiver at heart and loved taking care of everyone around her.

A private family graveside service will be held at Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Garfield, KY.

As she was always one to offer a meal to anyone, expressions of sympathy make take the form of contributions to your local food bank in her honor or to the American Cancer Society.
