Sherry Gaynell Ditto

Sherry Gaynell Ditto, age 77, of Irvington, KY, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the Kensington Center in Elizabethtown, KY.

She was born on November 2, 1947, to the late Jesse James Young and Joy Belle Haynes Young. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her boyfriend of 24 years, Melvin Beasley; brothers, Mike Young, Harry Young, Mark Young, and Paul Young; sister, Cheyenne Moorman; and nephews, David Moorman and Terry Crouch.

Sherry attended Clair Memorial and was a member of the choir. She loved U of L Basketball and Football. She enjoyed watching the Young and the Restless and old westerns. Sherry was kind and always willing to help. She had a generous heart and would open her home and kitchen to anyone in need. Sherry loved her family and friends, especially her grandson.

She is survived by her daughter, Anelia (Lance) Ellington; son, Curtis (Dachelle) Rogers; sisters, Cassie Crouch, Anita Duncan, Donna Moorman, and Marcella (David) Duncan; brother, Bryant (Elsie) Moorman; grandchildren, K’Shawn Ditto, Daonna Philpot, Deonna Philpot, and Terrica Clarkson; and great-grandchildren, Gemini Dorsey, Kennedi Philpot, Kenseli Philpot, Krissionna Philpot, and Ter’Riyona Clarkson; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation has been chosen by the family and Alexander Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. EDT at Clair Memorial in Irvington, KY.
