Shelia Ree Harper

Shelia Ree Harper, of Louisville, KY, age 80, passed away on September 24, 2026. 

She was born on February 9, 1946, daughter of the late Cyril Mays and Eliza Lillian Bradshaw Mays. Along with her parents, she is proceeded in death by her husband, Paul Harper; sisters, Cyrilie Haeberlin and Dana “Boo” Mays.

She is survived by her children, George (Sarah) Harper, of Indianapolis, IN, Dana Harper of Vine Grove, KY, David (Robin) Harper of Brandenburg, KY, Jack (Jennifer) Harper of Vine Grove; eleven grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Also, her special friend Brenda Ballman and many beloved family members. 

Shelia was a member of the Irvington Order of Eastern Star #544, located in Irvington, KY. She was also a member of Brandenburg United Methodist Church. Alongside her faith, Shelia was dedicated to her work as an EMT for Meade County EMS for many years, and cared for many people in need. Outside of her faith and work, Shelia had a passion for U of K basketball. Above all, the love she shared with her family was untouched and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, in the Chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home from 10:00A.M. to 3:00P.M. EDT., 

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Bruington- Jenkins- Sturgeon Funeral Home on Sunday, September 27, 2026, beginning at 3:00P.M. EDT. with Rev. Jason Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Ekron Baptist Church Cemetery
