Mrs. Patricia Carol Wood, age 76, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.  Carol was born April 12, 1948, the daughter of Barlow and Lorene (Wells) Moore.

Carol was a longtime member of Ekron Baptist Church.  She was very active in her church and enjoyed participating in the women’s groups.  She retired from the Meade County Board of Education as a school bus driver after 33 years of service.  Carol had a very outgoing personality and enjoyed many special friendships through the years.  She enjoyed working in her flower gardens to beautify her home and was known for her world class chocolate pies.  Mostly however, she just enjoyed spending time with and taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Bill Wood; her two children, Rena Hayes, and Billy Gavin Wood and his wife, Kim; seven grandchildren, Tanner and Hannah Hayes, and Gavin, Tyler, Jax, Jase, and Jaydee Wood; her great grandson, Hudson Wood; three brothers, Steve (Karen) Moore, Harold (Mary) Moore, and Neil (Pat) Moore; three sisters-in-law, Helen Wood Barr, Regina Foushee, and Faye Wood; and tons of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 21,2024 from the Ekron Baptist Church, with Rev. Tom Curry officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and at the church from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Wednesday.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Ekron Baptist Church Building Fund; to the Ekron Baptist Church Youth Committee; or to Hosparus of Central Kentucky.
