Nicholas Emmanuel Bain

Mr. Nicholas Emmanuel Bain, age 77, of Corydon, IN. passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at U of L – Jewish Health in Louisville.  Nick was born December 22, 1946, the son of Jacob Emmanuel and Dorothy Louise (Hood) Bain.

Nick was a founder and Charter member of the Tabernacle of Worship, where he stood by his wife’s side as she serves as Pastor.  He loved their church.  Nick poured his heart and soul, as well as his time and talent into the church from its inception.  From the altar, to the podium, to the furnace, Nick was involved in all of it. He was a retired machinist at Phillip Morris, loved woodworking, Kentucky Basketball, and most of all “family.”

Nick was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Dorothy Bain; two sons, Mike Cundiff and Brian Blevens; his grandson, Tyler Blevens; and his brother, Samuel Bain. He is survived by his loving wife, Lida Bain; four children, Joe (Carla) Bain, Scott (Natalie) Bain, Davy Blevens and Joey (Sussan) Blevens; seven grandchildren, Jalen, Jamison and Grace Bain, and Ashley, Alyssa, Christopher and Brittany Blevens; three great grandchildren, Kendrick, Wrenly and Alaina; two sisters, Harriett (Leon) Derr, Amanda (Tom) Pursley; his sister-in-law, Nina Bain; several nieces and nephews; and all of his family at the Tabernacle of Worship.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the Tabernacle of Worship, 1990 Highway 79, Brandenburg, KY, with Brother David Heard officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Corydon, IN.  Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, and from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Wednesday.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the church.
