Missing Meade County man located after wandering into woods

On the evening of Saturday, December 6, it was reported to local emergency services that an adult male was missing. According to Meade County Emergency Management, the individual was last seen leaving his house and presumed to have wandered into the woods. Between weather, medical concerns and inability to communicate with the individual, a coordinate search effort commenced.
After several hours of searching with ground units and aerial drone resources, the individual was located, conscious and alert. EMS evaluated the man and transported him for additional medical assessment and monitoring. The operation was a combined effort between Meade County 911, the Meade County Sheriff's Office, Brandenburg Police, Battletown Fire, Payneville Fire, Meade County Fire, Flaherty Fire, Meade County EMS, Meade County Emergency Management, and Jefferson County Search Dog Association. McDonald's was also acknowledged for supporting the operation.
