Mary Lou (Ditto) Hendley

Mrs. Mary Lou Hendley, age 75, of Radcliff, KY, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, November 30, 2024, with her sons by her side.  Mary Lou was born on August 25, 1949, the daughter of William E. “Shorty” and Julia Marie Ditto. 

Mary Lou loved her time spent during the summers at Rough River Lake.  She loved the peacefulness and the joy she found in spending that time with her husband, sons, and grandkids.  She would even use her vacation time to take Mondays off to get that extra day at the lake.  She would sit on her porch serenading her friends and neighbors with “Nah,Nah,Nah, Nah; Nah, Nah, Nah Nah; Hey, Hey, Hey, Goodbye!” as they left the lake on Sunday evening to go back to work.  

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Forrest Glenn Hendley; her brother, Clarence “Bud” Ditto; her sister, Georgia Ellen Ditto; and tow brothers-in-law, Billy Hendley, and Jilian Hendley and his wife, Alice.  She is survived by her two sons, Damon Lee Hendley, and Brian Jay (Amy) Hendley; three grandsons, Adam Wade, Brent Alan, and Ethan Reid Hendley; her bonus grandchildren, Maddy and Daelin; her bonus great granddaughter, Alahni; her brother, William A. “Bill” Ditto; two sisters, Alice Robertson, and Elizabeth “Little Bit” Hilkey; two brothers-in-law, Larry Foster, and Tommy Hendley; two sisters-in-law, Nikky Henderson, and Vivian “Vie” Hendley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.  Cremation will follow the service, with burial of her cremains, along with her husband’s to follow at a later date at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY.
