Martha Nell Heavrin

Martha Nell Heavrin, age 78 of Union Star, KY, passed away in Hardinsburg, KY on Wednesday, January 17, 2024.

She was born in Battletown, KY on June 23, 1945 daughter of the late Charles Samuel Hardin and Georgia Lee Greer Hardin.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 30 years, John Robert “Bobby” Heavrin; daughter, Kay Riley; grandson, Andre D. Heavrin; sisters, Dorothy Hardin, Barbara Jean Miller, and Loretta (James) Swink; and brother, Jesse James Hardin.

Martha was a member of St. Theresa Church in Rhodelia where she volunteered, served, worked, and worshiped with her beloved church members.  She loved puzzles, card games, and playing Bunco. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, and mother.  She loved through service, and was an example of good works.  She loved and was loved by her family.  She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children, Donald Eugene (Vivian) Heavrin of Webster,  Mary Jane (C.J. Williams) Heavrin of Union Star, and Michael Heavrin of Union Star; brother, William Harold Hardin; grandchildren, Jamie, Erica, Kayla, Rick, Chris, Matthew, Macie, Makayla, and John Michael; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and many dear family members.

Visitation will be held at the Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg, KY on Sunday, January 21, 2024 from 4-8:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 6:00 P.M. with Deacon Greg Beavin. Visitation will continue, Monday, January 22, 2024 at St. Theresa Church in Rhodelia after 9:00 A.M. 

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Church in Rhodelia on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. EST.  Father Robert E. Ray officiating, burial will follow in St. Theresa Church Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to St. Theresa Church, 9245 Rhodelia Road, Payneville, KY 40157.
