Lillie Belle (Reynolds) Cartwright Travis

Mrs. Lillie Belle Cartwright Travis, age 93, of Brandenburg, KY,  formerly residing in both Louisville and Central City, KY, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.  Lillie Belle was born October 27, 1931, the daughter of George William and Lizzie Ann Reynolds.

      Lillie Belle was a member of Browder General Baptist Church.  She had many interests in life that included sewing, quilting, doing word search and crossword puzzles, playing cards and board games, and going on buggy rides.  Most importantly however, she enjoyed spending time with her family, sitting in her porch swing and drinking her sweet tea.

      Mrs. Travis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and father of her children, Claude Cartwright, Jr.; her second husband, Howard Travis; three daughters, Sharon Gail Cummings, Joyce June Culbertson, and Glenda Sue Ferguson; her grandson, Adam Ferguson; and two sons-in-law, Billy Ferguson and Jackie Cummings.  She is survived by her son, Claude Cartwright; seven grandchildren, Jackie (Rhonda) Cummings, Shelley Culbertson, Kellie (Jamie) Pepper, Amanda (Mike) Cummings, Angela Ferguson, Kevin Ferguson, and Michael Culbertson; 20 great grandchildren, Ashley, Kelsey, Alexandria, Austin, Matthew, Christopher, Brandon, Brianna, Benjamin, Whitney, Kiera, Kailyn, Britany, Amber, Timberly, Makayla, Kamden, Kanah, Madison, and Madalyn; and her son-in-law, Butch Culbertson; and her brother-in-law, Daniel Cartwright.

      Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM EST, on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home in Brandenburg, KY.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM CST at Union Ridge Cemetery in Belton, KY.  There will be a time from 1:30 PM CST until the time of the service, to visit with the family at the cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until 8:00 PM EST on Monday, July 15, and on Tuesday, July 16, from 9:00 AM until the time of service.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Make a Wish Foundation.
