Lena Pearl (Adams) Thompson

Mrs. Lena Pearl (Adams) Thompson, age 81, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the Norton Healthcare Pavilion in Louisville, KY.  Mrs. Thompson was born May 21, 1942, the daughter of John Adams and Aleatha (Pack) Adams-Floyd.  Lena was a longtime member of New Brandenburg Southern Baptist Church.  She enjoyed playing Bunco, but truly loved family gatherings.  She always loved to have everyone together and be able to cook them a delicious southern meal.

Lena was preceded in death by her parents; her step father, Frank Floyd; her husband, Alvin D. Thompson, Sr.; and two brothers, James “Doc” Adams and Wayne Adams.  She is survived by her children, Alvin D. “Ooner” Thompson, Jr. and his wife, Debbie, and Angela F. Laslie and her husband, Barry; two grandchildren, Kelli Brown and her husband, Jimmy, and Kristina Powell and her husband, Cliff; four great grandchildren, Mac Powell, and Tucker, Kase, and Allie Brown; her brother, Phillip Adams and his wife, Shirley; and three nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Revs. Tim Harris and Tom Bridge officiating.  Burial will follow in Bethel Methodist Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday, and from 1:00 PM until the time of service on Sunday.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to New Brandenburg Southern Baptist Church.
