Bob Barker

John "Bob" Robert Barker, 91, of Ekron, KY, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Harrison County Hospital, Corydon, Indiana, with his family by his side.

Mr. Barker was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Flaherty, KY. He was a veteran of the United States Army, Bob was retired from the Olin Chemical Plant, Brandenburg, KY and was also a farmer. He was preceded in death by a son, Sam A. Barker; his parents, Anthony & Margaret Barker; a sister, Mary Castro; and John & Leona Snyder, who helped raise him.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Phyllis Vowels Barker; one daughter, Debbie Whelan (Steve); six grandchildren, Janie (Quinten), Morgan (Wyatt), Johnathan (Samantha), Stephanie (Kyle), Jacob, Jennifer (Truman); twelve great grandchildren; and a host of extended family & friends. Visitation will be Monday, October 26, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a rosary service at 11:00 AM, at Chism Family Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. Barker at 12:00 PM, Monday, October 26, 2026, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Flaherty, KY.  Burial with military honors will follow in St. Martin Cemetery.
