Jesse James “Jimmy” Gilpin, age 78, of Irvington, KY, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025, in Elizabethtown, KY. 

He was born on December 20, 1946, in Breckinridge County, KY. Son of the late Jesse Lee Gilpin and Hilda Frances Henderson.

Jimmy retired from the G.E. Appliance Park in Louisville, KY, after 35 years. He had a servant’s heart and a passion for helping others, which was proven in his dedication to being a first responder. He served on the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Department for 20 years as a Deputy Sheriff, and also acted as a volunteer fireman for the Irvington Fire Department for some time. Jimmy truly lived a life dedicated to others, and he will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Gilpin; two stepchildren, Kevin (Jacinda) Sipes of Floyd Knobs, IN, Shea (Pam) Sipes of Louisville, KY; and three step-grandchildren, Landrey, Brady, and Kalen Sipes.  

Visitation will be held at the Alexander Funeral Home on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 10:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. (EDT) 

Funeral services will be held at Alexander Funeral Home on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 1:30P.M. (EDT) with Bro. Carlie Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
