ason Scott Manning, age 40 of Brandenburg, KY passed away in the woods of Campton Kentucky on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
Jason was the first born of Greg and Patty, just two days before Christmas, 1985. After school in both Chesterfield, Missouri and then Keller, Texas he committed to the Navy in 2004 and served with the Black Knights Squadron VFA-154. After serving in Iraqi Freedom, he returned stateside and enjoyed seeing the country from California then back to his home, Texas. There, he met his loving wife Melissa while enjoying Austin together and began their beautiful life together. Eventually moving to Kentucky, he worked as a Field Supervisor at Premier Power and was highly regarded in his field of electrical testing. He loved the outdoors, his adventures, but most of all he truly adored his family.
Jason was quiet from a strangers eyes, but to friends who earned his time, he was a true peer who would always be there. He knew the loneliness we all feel, and was relentless in his efforts to engage and connect with everyone he could. He has left with pieces of all of us, and we hope sharing his stories and enjoying his pastimes gives peace to those feeling lost.
Jason is survived by his loving wife, Melissa Ann Manning; parents, Patricia Ann Thornton Manning and Gregory Glenn Manning; brother Bradley Alan (Julia Lynn) Manning; sister, Michelle Caruso; nieces and nephew, Sabine Manning, Walker Manning, and Lillian Rose Caruso; his beloved dogs, Earl and Rita Manning; and countless more caring family members and friends.
The family is being served by Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg, KY. Services will be held at Azle Deer Cove in Texas on February 1st.
