Henry David Hobbs

Henry David Hobbs, 81, of Flaherty, KY, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.


Mr. Hobbs was employed by LG&E for 34 years, 4 months, and 4 days.  He was a faithful parishioner of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Flaherty, Kentucky and was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus.  


He was preceded in death by his parents, Meyering and Leona Hobbs; and his brothers, Donald, Joe, Leroy, Martin, Robert, and Richard Hobbs. 


He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Janet Lee Hager Hobbs of Flaherty, Kentucky; two sons, David Wayne Hobbs (Miranda), and Patrick Eugene Hobbs (April) both of Flaherty, Kentucky; three sisters, Mary Rose Steinbock of Louisville, Kentucky, Genevieve Crutcher of Louisville, Kentucky, and Marcella Barger of Midway, Kentucky; along with six grandchildren, Taylor, Alec, Holland, Braxton, Nolan Hobbs and Dylan Shaw. He was a special “Pops” to his grandchildren. 


Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday May 28, 2026 and from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM, Friday, May 29, 2026 at Chism Family Funeral Home.                  


A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. Hobbs at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 29, 2026 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Flaherty, KY.  Burial will follow at the St. Martin Cemetery.
