Ellen (Whelan) Jones

Ellen W. Jones passed away on March 6, 2024, at the age of 65, surrounded by her loving family.  

Ellen was known for her sweet and spicy personality, her love for God and music, as well as her support for the UofL Cardinals. Her family requests that she be remembered for the joy she brought to life, and not for the sadness of her passing.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, John Richard Whelan and Barbara Whelan.   

She is survived by her husband, Kenny Jones; her daughters, Sarah Jones (Annie Jones), Emily English (Adam English), and Kellen Jones; and her three grandchildren, Mason English, Beau Jones, and Murphy Jones. Ellen also leaves behind her brothers and sisters, Tim Whelan, Chris Whelan, Kateri Whelan, and Mary Richard Brangers.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, March 12, 2024 and from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM, Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Flaherty, KY. 

Instead of flowers or gifts, the family asks that donations be made to the National MS Society in Ellen's name.
