Elbert Ray Lasley

Mr. Elbert Ray Lasley, age 85, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at his residence. Elbert was born on August 22, 1939, the son of Joseph C. and Mattie Robertson Lasley.

Elbert enjoyed working in his yard, playing Santa Claus, going on vacations and listening to WMMG radio. He loved all of his granddogs and grandcats and would let them kiss him all over. Most of all, Elbert cherished the time he spent with his family and friends. He was truly one of the good ones and will be greatly missed.

Elbert was preceded in death by his parents; his son, James E. Lasley; his twin brother, Delbert Lasley; his brother, Gordon Lasley; and three sisters, Pearl Eagle, Delsie Axton and Corine Fowler. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Charlene Lasley; his daughter, Melissa S. Dobson; his son-in-law, Jim Mitchell; two brothers, Dale Lasley and Roy Lasley; four sisters, Doris Lawrence, Laverne Pyles, Barbara Blankenship and Mary Rose Cannady; his bonus daughter, Brittani Richardson; and many special nieces, nephews, great friends and coworkers.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the chapel of Hager Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Ensor officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday and from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.
