Dorothy Louise Benham, age 85, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Signature Health of North Hardin in Radcliff, KY, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on August 27, 1938 in Brandenburg, KY, daughter of the late Eli and Louise Hartman Thomas Dix. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, David Howard Benham, Sr.; and brothers, Gus Owen, Donald Eli, and James Hobert Dix.
Dorothy was a member of the Brandenburg Church of the Nazarene, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and their Missionary President for many years. During her time in that position, she created beautiful, encouraging presentations to inform her church family of the travels and progress their missionaries had made. Dorothy truly loved doing the Lord’s work. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, sewing, traveling, playing games, and going bowling. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sons, David (Susie) Benham and Tony Benham of Brandenburg; grandchildren, Hannah (Fiancée, Cade Miller) Benham of Brandenburg, AJ (Kelly) Roberts of Brandenburg, Tim Roberts of San Clemente, CA, Tonya Gregory of London, KY, and Karen Reams of London, KY; sister, Brenda Joyce Mounce of Somerset, KY; brother, Jessie Pony Dix of Troy, AL; and a number of great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 10:00 A.M.-2:00 P.M.
A Funeral Services will be held at the Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Gary Benham officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery.
