Donita Gayle Lucas

Donita Gayle Lucas, age 66 of Owensboro, formerly of Irvington, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025 in Owensboro, KY.

She was born on February 12, 1959 in Hardinsburg, KY daughter of the late Charles Edward Lucas and Agnes Louise Priest Lucas. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Mugsy Lucas.

Donita was a dedicated Mom and Mamaw who loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart. She spent much of her time with her grandchildren, doing cross word puzzles and coloring. She was a huge UK basketball fan and cared for all her family. She loved to read, had a great taste in music and had an undying love for Jimmy Fallon. She could always put a smile on your face one way or another. There will never be another like her, and she will be deeply missed by all.

She is survived by her children Eric (Jenn) Perkins of Taylorsville, KY, and Katie (Stephen Perry) Perkins of Owensboro; grandchildren, Liam, Aurora, Emmett, and Marshall; sisters, Angela Compton and Marquetta Davis; brothers, Peanuts (Debbie) Lucas and Bobby (Tammy) Lucas; and her beloved dog, Wickett.

Visitation will be held at the Alexander Funeral home in Irvington, KY on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 from 11-2:00 P.M. EST.

Funeral Services will be held at the Alexander Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. with burial to follow in Custer Cemetery.
