D. Wade Chappell

Daniel “Wade” Chappell, age 73 of Irvington, KY passed away on April 15, 2025 in Elizabethtown, KY.  

He was born on May 15, 1951, in Irvington, KY son of Margie Lee Hayes Chappell and the late Jessie Willis Chappell.  Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Elizabeth McIntosh Chappell; sister, Betty Jean Burrell; and step-grandson, Greg Davis.

Wade retired from LG&E after 28 years and worked as a contractor for LG&E after retirement for an additional 17 years.  He was a member of Raymond Baptist Church. 

He is survived by his mother, Margie L. Chappell; sister, Kathy (Michael) Short; brother, Kenneth (Judy) Chappell; step-children, Patricia Berry, Denny (Tena) Breeden, and Sue (Terry) Allgood; step-grandchildren, Micki Chachere, Jason Johnson, Jessica Nalley, Lesley Aulick, and Collin Allgood; 8 step-great grandchildren; 1 step-great-great grandchild; and his nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Alexander funeral home on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 4-8:00 P.M. EDT. and after 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.  

Funeral services will be held at the Alexander funeral home on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. EDT with Bro. Micah Burkhardt officiating. Burial will follow in Raymond Baptist Church Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to your favorite youth program.
