Charles “Charlie” Franklin Dooley, age 77, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Irvington, KY, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024, at Baptist Health Louisville.
He was born on April 2, 1946 in Guston, KY to the late Will C. Dooley and Lillian Bandy Dooley. His wife of 29 years, Karin Ann Sholea Dooley; sister, Shirley Foote; brother, William “Bill” Dooley, and great-grandson, Easton Burdette, preceded him in death.
Charlie was retired from Ford Motor Company and a proud UAW member. He was a US Army veteran, serving his country in Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW and Kentucky Hot Rod Association. Charlie loved to work on old cars, going to car shows, and restoring his 1958 Cushman scooter. Charlie enjoyed traveling and going to antique auctions with his late wife, Karin. As a hobby, Charlie loved making stained glass and watching westerns/Hallmark movies.
He is survived by his children, Brad (Kellie) Dooley and Britney (Craig) Kannapel, both of Hardinsburg; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Alexander Funeral Home (509 Spring Street, Irvington, KY 40146) on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 11-4:00 P.M. EDT.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 26, at 4:00 P.M. EDT. with Todd Brown officiating. Burial to follow at Bethel Cemetery.
