Brandenburg collision on Bypass results in serious injuries and a fatality

Accirding to the Kentucky State Police (KSP), at approximately 3:27 pm, they received a call regarding a fatal collision on Bypass Road near High Street in Meade County. Post 4 Troopers responded to the scene.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2017 Subaru WRX, operated by Dustin Farmer, 34, of Central, Indiana, was traveling north on Bypass Road when it crossed into the center turn lane and into the path of a 2015 Ford F-150 pickup truck being operated by Maia Fisher, 25, of Mansfield, Missouri. The two vehicles collided in a head on manner.
Dustin Farmer was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Meade County Coroner. Maia Fisher sustained serious injuries and was flown to University of Louisville Hospital. Two juvenile passengers in the Subaru were also seriously injured and were taken to Norton Children's Hospital and University of Louisville Hospital.
The investigation is ongoing and is being led by Trooper Jesse Harp. He was assisted at the scene by the Meade County Sheriff's Office, Brandenburg Police Department, Meade County EMS, Meade County Coroner's Office and Meade County Fire.
