Barbara Ann (Black) Barnes

   Mrs. Barbara Ann Barnes, age 89, of Shepherdsville, KY, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, in Corydon, IN.  Barbara was born on August 8, 1936, the daughter of Bethel Hugh and Elsie Mae (Snawder) Black.

     Barbara loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and attended Trinity Life Center in Shepherdsville for many years.  She enjoyed playing the piano and singing Gospel songs.  She absolutely adored her two grandchildren and her great grandson.  They hung the moon in her eyes and truly were the light of her life.

     Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dan Raymond Barnes; and all her siblings, Lucille, Sarah, Helen, Morris and Ronnie.  She is survived by three children, Dennis (Nancy) Barnes of Shepherdsville, Michael (Helen) Barnes of Brandenburg, and Patti Barnes of Shepherdsville; two grandchildren, Erica Barnes (and great-grandson, Liam Schneider) of Corydon, IN, and Matthew (Jessica) Barnes of Lexington, KY.

     Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Monday, April 27, 2026, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Rev. James McFadden officiating.  Burial will follow in Knob Creek Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Monday.
