Anna L. Buckman, 83, of Flaherty, KY passed away Monday, October 27, 2025 at her residence with her family by her side.
Mrs. Buckman was retired from Federal Civil Service, Armor & Engineer Board, Fort Knox, KY after more than 30 years of service. She was also a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Flaherty, KY.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Leslie T. “Tommy” Buckman; her parents, Strother & Katharyn Whelan; three brothers, Raphael “Dee” Whelan & his wife, Elizabeth Ann, William Walter “Buck” Whelan & his wife, Margie; Charles B. “Horse” Whelan, Lee Earl Whelan; one grandson, Strother Dale McCombs; a brother in law, James A. Brown; her in laws, John & Mary M. Buckman and Charles E. “Chickie” Buckman.
Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Ann McCombs & her husband, Joey; a son, Michael Thomas Buckman & his wife, Lisa; four grandchildren, Emily Katharyn Corbett & her husband, Travis (their children, Charlotte Anne, Hallie Marie & one on the way), Natalie Ann McCombs, Matthew Strother Buckman & his wife, Emily (their children, Adley Annette, Ace Thomas, Nash Strother & Lettie Kay), Olivia Jordan McCarty & her husband, Bryan (their children, Maddox Warren, Mallory Anne & Nixon Michael); three sisters, Mary Joetta Padgett, Frances Janette Brown, Rose Ellen Padgett & her husband, Marion; sister in law’s, Mary Alma Whelan, Mary Magdalen Olson & her husband, Eddie; and a host of nieces, nephews, Godchildren, extended family & friends.
Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, October 30, 2025 and from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM, Friday, October 31, 2025 at Chism Family Funeral Home.
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Buckman at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 31, 2025 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Flaherty, KY. Burial will follow at the St. Martin Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Martin Cemetery Fund, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, American Cancer Society or any other favorite charity of choice.
