Abigail "Abby" (Phillips) Hancock

 Mrs. Abigail “Abby” Hancock, age 63, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, KY.  She was born on December 20, 1961, the daughter of Phillip Morris and Anna Mae (Cain) Phillips.  Abby was retired from Humana after 36 years in financial recovery.  She loved reading and being on the lake with her husband and friends.  She also was a dog lover of every breed and an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats.

     Abby was preceded in death by her father; and her mother-in-law, Denise Hancock.  She is survived by her husband, Jeff Hancock; her step daughter, Brittany (Ethan) Sellings; two step grandchildren, Sutton and Emmie Sellings; her mother, Anna Phillips; her brother, Tony (Brenda) Phillips; her sister, Nita (Kent) Allen; her nephew, Austin (Hannah) Phillips; her nieces, Hannah (Drew) Sadler and Savannah (Zach) Andrews; her great nephew, Gavin Sadler; her father-in-law, Jerry Hancock; her sister-in-law, Christie Hancock; and numerous cousins.

     Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, November 6. 2025 at the Chapel of Hager Funeral Home, with Brother Monie Matthews officiating.  Burial will follow in Cap Anderson Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, and from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Thursday.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, specifically for research and care for lung cancer.
