George Doyle

Mr. George Robert Doyle, age 90, of Ekron, KY, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, KY. Mr. Doyle was born on July 21, 1935, the son of Earley Robert Sr. and Virginia (Meadows) Doyle.

George was a longtime member of Ekron Baptist Church and a KY Colonel. He worked as a supervisor at L, G & E, up until his retirement after 40 years of service. After retirement, George found joy in gardening and loved to share in his harvest with all his family and friends.  He was also an avid sports fan. Most of all, George loved and found the greatest joy in his family. He was a cherished husband, father, and pappy, who leaves behind a strong legacy of love.

George was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Earley Doyle, Jr.; three sisters, Evelyn Kirby, Lucille Fox and Mildred Sipes; and many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Anne Brown Doyle; his son, Tony Robert Doyle (Virginia Thompson); his granddaughter, Christy Doyle Stull; his great grandson, Lane Robert (Shelby) Stull; his great-great grandson, Parker Lane Stull; his step granddaughter, Rikki (Jermey) Stafford; three step great grandchildren, Justin (Kelsey) Wagner, Jenna (Levi) Miller and Bryce (Emma) Stafford; and three step great-great grandchildren with one on the way, Bryson, Easton and Mason.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the chapel of Hager Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Curry officiating. Burial will follow in Ekron Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday and from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Thursday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Ekron Baptist Church Viewership Outreach Ministry or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
