Virgil Allen

Virgil Allen, age 80, of Lodiburg, KY, passed away on Wednesday, November 26 in Louisville, KY. 

He was born on August 2, 1945, to the late “Mimi” and Proctor Allen. 

Virgil was a retired farmer, a provider as well as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Allen; six children, “Sandy” Miller, “Joe” (Sherry) Coomer, “Pam” (Ron) Brown, Ricky (Tammy) Allen, Virgil Allen, Jr. and Leigh Ann Brown; one sister, Dorothy Hundley; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. 

Virgil is proceeded in death by, both parents, along with fourteen brothers and sisters. 

Visitation will be held at Alexander Funeral Home (509 West Spring St, Irvington, KY 40146) on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 12:00-8:00 P.M. EST and will continue Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 9:00-11:00A.M. 

Funeral services will be held at Alexander Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. with Bro. Danny Board officiating. Burial will follow in Horsley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery (48 Coleman Dowell Rd., Hardinsburg, KY 40143.)
