Thomas J. “Sug” Powell, 90, of Guston, KY passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024 at his residence with his family by his side.

Mr. Powell was a member of Ekron Baptist Church. His hobbies include fishing, hunting, softball, throwing horse shoes and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Ruth “Ruthie” Powell; nine siblings, Lillian “Doll Baby”, Emma, James “Jay Bird”, Elizabeth “Tizzy”, Thelma, Helen, Everett Jr, Paul and Harry.

Survivors include four sons, Gary Powell (Debbie), Tony Powell (Debbie), Timothy Powell (Diane), Keith Powell (Tina); one daughter, Pamela Powell; one brother, Johnny; ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and a host of family & friends.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 26, 2024 and from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

Funeral services for Mr. Powell will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 27, 2024 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove with Brother Tom Curry officiating. Burial will follow in the Ekron Baptist Church Cemetery.
