Mrs. Sue Embry, age 80, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at her residence. Mrs. Embry was born on January 17, 1944, in Louisville, KY. Sue was a longtime member of the Ladies Auxillary of the VFW. She worked as a title clerk at Cardinal Dodge and also worked in the produce and floral departments at Kroger.
Sue is survived by her son, Shane (Fayme) Embry, of Hardinsburg, KY; her daughter, Sheri (Kevin) Smith, of Brandenburg, KY; seven grandchildren, Joshua Embry, Gracie Embry, Chloe Embry, Jessica (Andy) Ray, Sami (Nathan) Hickerson, Emily Ray and Dakota (Jess) Smith; three step grandchildren, Stacy (Brandon) Pullen, Joshua (Brittany) Bullock and Mandy (James) Skaggs; and 16 great grandchildren.
In honor of Sue’s commitment to the VFW Auxillary, a service will be performed at 5:45 PM in her honor followed by a celebration of her life at 6:00 PM, on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the chapel of Hager Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Bridge officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday. A graveside service, for immediate family only, will be held at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central at a later date.
