Stephen Edward Adams

Stephen Edward Adams, age 78, of Muldraugh, KY passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026, in Elizabethtown, KY.

He was born on August 22, 1947, son of the late Billie Jean Caudill Self and James Edward Adams. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Doris Adams; step father who raised him, Green W. Self; brothers, Timothy Wayne Adams, Don Adams, and Wayne Maggard; sisters, Sherry (David) Shuck and Linda Step; son, Timothy Edward Adams; and three grandsons, Evander Adams, Dakota Adams, and Timothy Adams, Jr. 

Stephen is survived by his beloved partner, Brenda Crawford; children, Dennis (Dawn) Adams of  Nelson County and Gregory (Kristin) Adams of Brandenburg; brothers, Raymond (Bridgette) Self and Mark (Freda) Adams; sisters, Tammy (Darrel) Holbrook and Lisa (Scott) Becker; grandchildren, Cheyenne (Dylan) Harrod, Montana (Jeff) Adams, Jasper Adams, Jacob Adams, Jocelyn Adams, Destiny (Kyle) Adams, Slater (Veronica) Adams, Elizabeth (J.J.) Adams, and Elaina Adams; great-grandchildren, Madison Holcomb, Levi Spurlock, Annslee Thomas, Jaxon Spurlock, Addison Spurlock, Leighton Harrod, Mckenna Harrod, Braylon Adams, Layton Adams, Octavious Adams, and Leroy Adams.

He graduated from Pleasure Ridge Park High School in 1966 and further pursued his education at Sullivan University obtaining a bachelor’s degree in computer sciences from Sullivan University. Stephen retired from LG&E as a supervisor. Following his retirement, he continued working as a maintenance employee for several Dairy Queen Restaurants; following that he went on to be employed by Save-Rite Drugs, delivering prescription medication. He was an active member of the Harrison Masonic Lodge #122 F. & A. M. and served as a Deacon for Meade County General Baptist Church. Stephen was a man who loved deeply and gave selflessly. A hard worker who never met a stranger, he treated everyone with respect and kindness and was admired by all that knew him. He enjoyed camping and teaching his children how to survive. Nothing could stop him when he set his mind to something, and he inspired those around him. His family was always at the center of his world, and his love for them was apparent. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the Bruington-Jenkin-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg from 11:00 A.M to 8:00 P.M. EST with a Masonic Service at 6:00 P.M. EST. Visitation will continue after 9:00 A.M on Friday, February 6, 2026.

Funeral Services will be held at the Bruington-Jenkin-Sturgeon Funeral Home on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. with Bro. Alan Thomas officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in the Louisville Memorial Gardens West Cemetery.
