Shirley Ann (Baker) Yates

Mrs. Shirley Ann Yates, age 53, of Vine Grove, KY, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, at her residence.  Mrs. Yates was born on October 19, 1972, the daughter of Charlie Joe and Shirley Grace (Wagner) Baker.

Shirley loved her family immensely.  She enjoyed watching her nieces and nephews play sports and playing board and card games with everyone, especially Phase10.  She lived in a house divided but relentlessly cheered on her Kentucky Wildcats.  Shirley always loved winning a bet, so that her husband and son would have to proudly wear UK gear.  She also enjoyed watching her favorite television show, Judge Judy.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert Baker; and her mamaw and papaw, Ernest and Nell Wagner.  She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Yates; her son, Aaron Yates and his fiancée, Caylee Payton; two sisters, Patricia Higdon and Barbara Geary; three brothers, Walt, Charles and Joe Baker; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Hosparus Chaplain Valerie Goins officiating.  Burial will follow in Pleasantview Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until 8:00 PM on Saturday, and from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Sunday.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the funeral home to aid the family with expenses.
