Mrs. Norma Darlene (Gerkins) Dash of Fort Lauderdale, FL (originally Brandenburg, KY) arrived to her Heavenly home on August 28, 2025. Darlene was born in Louisville, KY on August 7, 1950.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Esther Gerkins, and sister, Lana Gail Gerkins, all of Brandenburg, KY and her father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Odene Dash, and two sisters-in-law, Martha Richard and Mary Williamson, all of Florida.
Darlene was a wonderful homemaker, in addition to being retired from a full-time job outside of the home. She loved to make a variety of crafts, and crochet was her favorite. She enjoyed baking and especially enjoyed giving her “famous” banana bread as gifts. Darlene always considered herself a “Kentucky girl” at heart, treasured visits back to her home state, and keeping Kentucky traditions alive in her home. She was a faithful Christian and was a member of Hill Grove Baptist Church, Guston, KY.
Darlene is survived by her loving husband of almost 54 years, Arthur E. Dash, their daughters, Samantha and Allison Dash, and three grandchildren, Tristin Dash, Krista and MacKenzie Garvey, all of Fort Lauderdale, FL, her sisters and their husbands, Sharon and Rodney Zeller of Louisville, KY, Monica Thompson and Dana Stephens of Bardstown, KY, and Kathy and Robert Veith of Brandenburg, KY, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service and burial will be held on Thursday, October 30th, at 1:00 pm, at Buck Grove Baptist Church cemetery.
