Michelle Elaine Thornton-Leezer

Michelle Elaine Thornton-Leezer, age 58, of Elizabethtown, KY, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Baptist Health Hardin.

She was born on June 7, 1966, in Louisville, KY, daughter of the late Charles Ray Thornton and Peggy Jean Johnson. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Pat; brothers-in-law, Glenn Lewis and Ken Smith; and niece, Destiny Dyer.

Michelle was one-of-a-kind. She was a very talented crafter and made “anything and everything. She poured her heart and soul into every item she made, and she loved to sell her crafts at the fairgrounds. She was a huge Elvis fan and enjoyed listening to his music. Above all else, Michelle had a massive heart and loved her family, especially her grandbaby, Tyson. She and Tyson had a very special bond, they were two peas in a pod. She was a loving wife, mother, MeMe, sister, and friend, and will be dearly missed by all who came to know her. 

She is survived by her husband, James William “Jimmy” Leezer; daughter, Jennifer (Tyler) Douglas; grandson, Tyson Douglas; sisters, Karen (Paul) Seadler, Debbie Lewis, and Melanie Smith; step-mother, Brenda Thornton; and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held at the Alexander Funeral Home on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 12:00 P.M.-4:00. P.M EDT. 

Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of the Alexander Funeral Home on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 4:00 P.M. Cremation will follow.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
