For the 10th year in a row, the Meade County Golden Angels are gearing up for their Christmas gift distribution and they need your help to make this year a success!
Most have probably heard of the Meade County Angel Ministry, a great local organization dedicated to helping families provide a great Christmas for their children every year; but another wonderful organization is the Golden Angels, which is an organization under the Meade County Ministerial Association that focuses on senior citizens.
The organization started with a burden from Linda Dee Ames about ten years ago and has taken off since, helping put some smiles on the faces of some seniors in our local area every year at Christmas. This year, the fundraising goal is $6,000, which will help the Ministerial Association purchase a total of 75 Kroger gift cards (valued at $80 a piece) to distribute to 75 seniors this year. Those interested in supporting the Golden Angel Ministry this year can send checks directly to First Baptist Church, 149 Lawrence Street, Brandenburg, KY 40108. Make your checks payable to the Meade County Ministerial Association and note "Golden Angels" on the memo line of the check.
The deadline for donations this year is Friday, December 12th and gifts will be distributed Thursday, December 18th from 10am to 3pm at the Meade County Community Action Office.
In order to register a senior to receive a gift this year, please contact Betty at the Community Action office, 270-422-2545. Community Action is located at 496 E. Broadway in Brandenburg.
For more information about this year's Golden Angel Ministry program, you can contact Linda Dee Ames at 619-838-9923. Golden Angels is registered as a 501(c)3 nonprofit with the Meade County Ministerial Association so 100% of your donation is tax deductible.
