Linda Rogers,78, of Rineyville, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly at her home on January 16, 2026, just two days after her 78th birthday. Linda was born on January 14, 1948 to Otho and Izola Wathen and raised in Flaherty, KY.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otho and Izola Wathen; her sisters, Martha Ann Stewart and Norma Jean Black; and her daughter-in-law, Sherry Rogers.

Linda is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Leslie Rogers, and their three children: Michael Rogers of Rineyville, KY Angela Buckley (Chris) of Mount Washington, KY and Chris Rogers (Sonya) of Sonora, KY. She was a proud and loving grandmother to seven grandchildren: Anthony, Daniel, and Martina Rogers; Sarah Beth and Gracie Buckley; and Levi and Case Rogers.

One of eleven siblings, Linda also leaves behind her brothers and sisters: Laverne Pike (Henry), Judy Sipes (Chester), Teresa Prather (Wesley), Rebecca Yates (Joseph), Pat Wathen (Paula), Tommy Wathen (Lisa), Anthony Wathen (Alexis), and David Wathen, along with more than 100 nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Linda retired from Fort Knox Civil Service in 2011 after 44 years of dedicated government service. During her career, she processed over one million soldiers for basic training. Linda was sharp as a tack and never forgot a birthday—earning her the title of birthday matriarch of the Wathen and Rogers’ clans. Everyone received a birthday card, without fail.

A devout Catholic, Linda was a faithful member of St. Brigid Catholic Church for over 50 years. While her service and faith were central to her life, her greatest pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She loved to brag—rightfully so—that Anthony could build or fix anything, Daniel could entertain anyone, and Martina could cook anything. She spoke proudly of Levi earning a baseball scholarship to Asbury University, laughed about Case always trying to outdo his dad by shooting the bigger turkey, and beamed when talking about Sarah Beth growing into a beautiful young woman and Gracie Mae, her baby who somehow isn’t a baby anymore.

The Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Vine Grove, KY with Rev. Jeff Gatlin officiating. Burial will follow in St. Brigid Catholic Church Cemetery in Vine Grove.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Vine Grove, KY.
