Mr. Kenneth L. “Kenny” Bruner, age 87, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, with his loving family by his side. Kenny was born in Oolite, KY on October 2, 1937, the son of Henry and Marie Bruner.
Kenny was a longtime member of Cold Spring Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon for over 50 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed trapshooting, gardening, and of course, playing ROOK. He was a self-proclaimed mechanic and enjoyed spending time tinkering with things. He loved spending time with his grandkids, but his greatest love was traveling, especially cruising, with his beloved wife.
Kenny was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Burrell) Bruner; his parents; his brother, Junior Bruner; and three granddaughters, Tiffany, Tabitha, and Jayme Faye. He is survived by four daughters, Cindy (Jim) McCreery, Tammy (Eugene) Brown, Crystal (Adam) Deane, and Cassie Basham; his sister, Velmeta Bruner; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; his best four-legged friend, Charlie; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 5, 2025, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Revs. Jensen Riddle, Stewart Skaggs, and Tom Bridge officiating. Burial will follow in Marve Bennett Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until 6:00 PM on Sunday, and from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Monday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Cold Spring Baptist Church.
